Independent Review Offers Vital Chance to Fix Delays in Autism, ADHD and Mental Health Support

Today, Thursday 4 December 2025, we welcome the announcement of a fully independent review into rising demand for mental health, autism and ADHD services.

At The Mason Foundation, we work with neurodivergent young people every day through our Propel programme. We see firsthand how long waiting lists and complex access barriers don’t just delay support, they can deny people the chance to live fulfilling, included lives.

This review must be guided by lived experience. Neurodivergent people, those with learning disabilities, and the organisations supporting them need to be at the centre of it.

The recommendations must prioritise timely access to diagnosis and support, reduce waiting times, and address inequalities so no community is left behind.

This is a critical opportunity to reshape how these services work. Done right, it could unlock potential, reduce inequalities, and ensure neurodivergent people get the support they need when they need it.
